Zoo

It opened in 1884 and was the first park with fauna and flora of the Iberian Peninsula. Develops and promotes a park, both zoo and botanical, as a center for conservation, breeding and reintroduction in the natural habitat of endangered species through scientific research and environmental enrichment programs. Offers a hotel for pets, a cemetery and recreational activities (aimed for birthday parties, summer camps, team building actions, workshops and competitions), has a teaching center, a cultural agenda, an amusement park, restaurant areas and a souvenir shop.

Assembly of the Republic

Is the legislative structure of the Portuguese State and meets daily at the Palace of S. Bento. You can visit the Parliament, a library, an historical archive and a bookstore. It´s open to the public on the last saturday of each month, being necessary to perform a request for visit.

Alfama

It is the oldest and one of the most typical neighborhood of Lisbon, covers the belvederes of Portas do Sol and Santa Luzia, the hill of the Castle of S. Jorge, the hill of S. Vicente, the Lisbon Cathedral, the Church of St. Stephen and the Church of St. Vicente de Fora. It is popular for its range of restaurants/bars, fado houses and celebration of the Popular Saints.

Bairro Alto

It is a picturesque old neighborhood in central Lisbon with narrow and stone streets, old century houses, small traditional shops, restaurants, nightlife places and fado houses.

Colombo Shopping Center

It has over 360 shops, more than 60 restaurants, 10 cinemas, an outdoor garden, a health club and over 10 customer support services. It is the only place in the country that has an IMAX room cinema. It is open every day from 9a.m. to 12p.m.

El Corte Inglés

It has several exclusive brands, restaurant areas, seasonal promotions, cultural courses and conferences. It is open from 10a.m. to 10p.m. (monday-thursday), 10a.m. to 11:30p.m. (friday and saturday) and from 10a.m. to 8p.m.hours (sunday and holidays).

Lift of the Glory

It opened in 1885, is one of the funiculars operated by Carris linking the Baixa (Praça dos Restauradores) to Bairro Alto (Garden of the São Pedro of Alcântara) that carries annually more than 3 million passengers. After leaving the elevator on the right side is situated the belvedere of S. Pedro of Alcantara and the Castle of S. Jorge and across the street is the Institute of the Porto Wine.

Light´s Stadium

It is a football stadium with a capacity of over 72,000 seats belonging to the Sport Lisboa Benfica. It has a sports complex, a health club, a museum, a restaurant and bars, a shopping area and a gift shop of the club.

Thief´s Fair

It is held twice a week (tuesday and saturday) from sunrise to sunset. It consists of tents, stalls or cloth spread on the floor with second-hand items (furniture, scrap metal, books, magazines, clothes, vinyl records, tables, etc.). However, they are also sold firsthand items.

Calouste Gulbenkian

It is a portuguese private law and public utility, whose statutory aims are the Arts, the Beneficent, Science and Education. It features a museum, a modern art center, an institute of science, an art library, an orchestra, a choir and gardens. Performs solo and group exhibitions, promotes international conferences, seminars and courses, and organizes an extensive program of educational activities.

Jeronimo´s Monastery

It is a Manueline monastery, monumental testimony of the richness of the portuguese Discoveries. Includes the tombs of D. Manuel I, D. Maria, D. João III, D. Catarina, D. Sebastião, D. Henrique, Vasco da Gama, Luís Vaz de Camões, Fernando Pessoa and Alexandre Herculano. It is composed of the South Portal, Main Portal, Church of St. Maria of Belém, the Sacred Chapel, the Cloister, Refectory, the Chapter Room, Vestry, Confessionals, Coro-high and Bookstore. It is open from 10a.m. to 5:30p.m. (October to April) and from 10a.m. to 6:30p.m. (May to September), rents spaces for events, conducts thematic visits and has special accesses for people with reduced mobility.

National Coach Museum

It was opened in 1905 by D. Amelia and is the most visited museum in the country. Preserves a set of cultural assets that integrate its collection, ceremonial vehicles from the Portuguese Royal House, harness and cavalry accessories, musical instruments of the Charamela Real, uniforms, weapons and symbolic instruments of the Royal House valuing them through historical research and technology over their origin, construction, manufacturing, materials, operation, owners, users and context of use. It has permanent and temporary exhibitions, educational activities, a library, cultural agenda, souvenir shop and gives spaces for events. It is open from 10a.m. to 6p.m.(tuesday to sunday) .

Church of Santa Engracia/National Pantheon

It opened in 1916 and houses the tombs of personalities that were part of the Portugal´s History, such as D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, Infante D. Henrique , Pedro Álvares Cabral, Afonso de Albuquerque, Almeida Garrett, Amália Rodrigues, Aquilino Ribeiro, Guerra Junqueiro, Humberto Delgado, João de Deus, Manuel de Arriaga, Óscar Carmona, Sidónio Pais and Teófilo Braga. Conducts guided visits, thematic and private, has a cultural agenda, gift shop and accesses for people with reduced mobility. It´s open from 10a.m. to 5p.m. (tuesday to sunday).

Pastels of Belém

In 1834, all convents were closed in Portugal and in an attempt to survive a monk of the Jeronimo´s Monastery put on sale a sweet pastry - "Pastéis de Belém". The monastery attracted many visitors who quickly became accustomed to the taste of them. In 1837, officially started the manufacture of "Pastéis de Belém", and the recipe remains unchanged to the present days and promotes the former portuguese sweets. The hours of operation are from 8a.m. to 11p.m. (October 1 to June 30) and from 8a.m. to 12p.m. (July 1 to September 30).

Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium

It opened in 1965, after the installation of an astronomical projection device in a room of semispherical dome allowing viewing the stars. It is an educational tool for everyone that allows for an wide dissemination of the astronomical science to a people with a traditional vocation of browsers and discoverers. It has a library, accesses for people with reduced mobility, public and school sessions. The opening hours are from 10a.m. to 5:30p.m. (tuesday to sunday).

Commerce´s Square

It is one of the most majestic squares of Lisbon and was the main maritime entrance of the city since more than 400 years. In the center of the square is the statue of D. José.

Restorer´s Square

It is characterized by an obelisk with 30 meters high inaugurated in 1886 to commemorate the liberation of the country from spanish rule in December 1, 1640. The names and dates referred on the obelisk represent the battles of the Restoration´s War.

Tower of Belém

Located on the right bank of the Tejo river, where once existed the beach of Belém, being consisted with 5 floors. Its prominence for its implicit nationalism since it is surrounded by decorations of the portuguese Coat of arms including crosses entries of the Order of Christ. The fortification was part of the defensive plan of the Tejo´s river bar designed at the time from João II of Portugal (1481). Contemporaneously, constitutes one of the Portugal´s Seven Wonders. It has a cultural agenda and a souvenirs shop.
