Bullfight Arena of Campo Pequeno

The first references of bull races in Campo Pequeno dates from 1741. In the surrounding area there are a space of bullfighting, a space for shows and events, a dance academy and has a shopping center that comprises retail spaces and catering areas. It is open from 10a.m. to 11p.m.

Amoreiras Shopping Center

It is a shopping center which opened in 1985, has 238 shops, catering areas, cinemas, an information desk, resting spaces, conditions for people with special needs, wi-fi, ATMs and a catholic church. It´s open from 10a.m. to 11p.m. and has good road accesses in public and private transportation.

Star Basilica

It was built in 1790, after the promise of D. José I of build a church if he had a son and heir. It comprises a church and a former convent of carmelite nuns (simplified version of Mafra Convent). Houses the tomb of D. Maria I, a crib with 500 terracotta figurines and two musical instruments. The hours of operation are from 8a.m. to 8p.m.

National Library

It was created in 1796, with the designation of "Royal Public Library of the Court", aiming public access to its collection (current depository of Portugal´s heritage bibliographic and documentary). His collection has three million pieces (periodicals, manuscripts, archives and heritage collections) through legal deposit and acquisition of works with high literature and cultural value. It is open to the public from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. being closed on sunday (September 16 to July 12) and from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. from monday to friday (July 17 to September 13).

University City

Corresponds to the campus of the University of Lisbon (has more than 37,000 students) and to the ISCTE - Lisbon University Institute (public institutions). In the interior includes research institutes and other cultural institutions (Portugal´s National Library) and sports (Lisbon University Stadium). Has the following faculties: Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning.

Alvalade Stadium

It is a football stadium with a capacity of 50,000 covered seats belonging to Portugal Sporting Clube. Has a souvenir shop of the club and an area with shops and restaurants.

Santa Maria´s Hospital

It is a teaching hospital that integrates since 2007 the North Lisbon Centre Hospital  EPE (CHLN) which in turn belongs to the National Health Service (NHS). It is open 24 hours a day and has the following Departments: Vascular and Endovascular Surgery; Medicine; Surgery; Child and Family; Obstetrics; Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine; Neurosciences; Complementary Methods of Diagnosis; Oncology; ENT; Voice and Communication Disorders; Thorax; Emergency and Intensive Care.

Botanical Garden

It has an area of ??4 hectares where you can observe plant specimens from all over the World and rare and endangered seeds. Contributes to the scientific knowledge of plants and fungi, its biodiversity and conservation allowing the approach between society and plants. Organizes events, educational activities, exhibitions and training actions. The hours are from 9a.m. to 8p.m. (April 1 to September 30) and from 9a.m. to 6p.m. (November 1 to March 31).

National Museum of Costume

Aims to promote research, development, conservation and dissemination of pieces relating to the evolution of clothing and textiles, especially of the portuguese culture. Collects pieces of civilian costume nationally and internationally since the seventeenth century to the present days. Conducts educational activities and guided tours, has a library, a restaurant and a souvenir shop. It is open from 2p.m. to 6p.m. (tuesday) and from 10a.m. to 6p.m. (wednesday to sunday).

Eduardo VII Park

It is the largest park of the center of Lisbon, having been baptized in 1903 in honor of Edward VII of the United Kingdom after an alliance between the two countries. Is held annually the Book Fair of Lisbon, consists of 25 acres and is divided into three zones (original greenhouse, warm greenhouse and sweet greenhouse).
