WHAT IS IT?
It's the new pass for higher education students
Now you can get a pass to go from home to school and benefit from a discount on the purchase of the sub23@superior.tp identification Card and the purchase of the monthly transport ticket that fits your travel needs between home and school on the Public Transport Operator in your area.
FOR WHOM?
Students of higher education, public or private, aged up to 23 years, inclusive, that benefit from School Social Action or who are in families that meet the criteria set forth in subparagraph c) of number 2 of Article 3-A of Ordinance No. 272 / 2011 of September 23, as amended by Ordinance No. 36/2012 of February 8, (Social Pass+).
WHAT ARE THE DISCOUNTS?
The sub23@superior.tp card will provide the following discounts on combined passes and subscriptions in force:
- 60% discount for students benefiting from the School Social Action in higher education
- 25% discount for students of families that meet the criteria set forth in subparagraph c) of number 2 of 3-A article of Ordinance No. 272/2011, of September 23, as amended by Ordinance No. 36/2012, of February 8, (Social Pass +)
WHICH ARE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATIONS COVERED?
All public passengers transport, by road, rail and river, nationally and, also municipal urban transport that may adhere to sub23.
In the metropolitan area of Lisbon they are: Fertagus, Metro Transportes do Sul, Transportes Sul do Tejo, Transportes Coletivos do Barreiro, Transtejo, Soflusa, CP, Metropolitano de Lisboa, Carris, Rodoviária de Lisboa, Vimeca, Scotturb.
HOW TO REQUEST THE SUB23?
To have access to the sub23 discount you need:
- Obtain from the school a Statement of Registration sub23, confirming to the student's enrolment, in which it expressly states whether you benefit or not from the higher education Social Action
- Complete the request available from the transport companies, to request access to the benefit, or in the case of students covered by the Ordinance No. 272/2011, of September 23, the Request for Access to the Social Band +
- Deliver these documents for the sub23 card at the transport company. The card is valid for periods not exceeding four years, until the end of the month in which the student turns 24 years
At the beginning of each school year, a new statement from the school and application to have access to the Social Band + must be shown to the transport operator, so as to be entitled to the reductions offered by the sub23@superior.tp card.
HOW CAN I USE IT?
From the time the documents are delivered, the transport operator will issue your sub23 card according to your urgency: within 10 business days if the request is normal, if you ask with urgency and upon payment of an emergency fee the card will be delivered the day after the request. (Note: Please consult the delivery conditions of each Operator).
To get access to the discount you will have to acquire a transportation ticket that will be loaded onto the card, upon mandatory presentation of the corresponding sub23 card.
SUB23 CARD ADVANTAGES
You can take trips without any limit of amount and any day of the week that you fancy, on the route for which your sub23 card is valid.
RENEWAL OF THE SUB23
Every year, from the beginning of the school year, you must submit, to the transport operator, a new Statement of Registration for thesub23, from your school to have a new reduction provided by sub23, for another 12 months.
SUB23 AT FERTAGUS
Sub23 Delivery Requisition
You can deliver the sub23 card request (request + Statement of Registration) at any Fertagus Ticket Box if your request is normal (non-urgent) and it will be available at the Ticket Box from the 10th day after the requisition has been delivered.
Cost - 3,50€
If you have urgency in receiving the card, then go to the Pragal Customer Office of and then you can request the sub23 card with urgency with the following conditions:
Delivered until 5:00 p.m. - The sub23 card can be picked-up the next business day, at the Fertagus Ticket Office at the Pragal Station
Delivered after 5:00 p.m. - The sub23 card can be picked-up on the 2nd business day, at the Fertagus Ticket Office at the Pragal Station
Delivered on Saturday/Sunday or Holiday - The sub23 card can be picked up on the 2nd business day, at the Fertagus Ticket Office at the Pragal Station
Cost - 6,00€ (includes urgency fee)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE REQUEST OF SUB23 CARD
- Requisition duly completed, signed and with a passport photograph, recent, original, in color, blank background, bareheaded and without sunglasses (except in specific duly justified situations)
- "passe sub23@superior.tp pass" Statement of Registration issued by the school attended (own model), duly signed and stamped with a seal that proves your enrolment
- Identity card (EU citizens), Citizen Card, Passport or Driving License (National Citizens) or Residence Permit
