4_18 and Sub23 - Consult the conditions necessary to enjoy the 4_18 or sub23 profile and how you can apply for it.
The 4_18 and Sub23 passes are aimed at young students aged 4 to 23, inclusive and allow free travel throughout the Lisbon metropolitan area.
Basic and Secondary Education students aged between 12 and 18 are entitled to a free pass for young students, under 18+TP. This benefit applies to all children and young people aged 4 to 18, and the pass is valid until the last day of the month in which they turn 19, without the need for annual renewal.
Students over the age of 18 and under or under 23, and students attending courses with an integrated study cycle, namely Architecture and Urban Planning, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Veterinary Medicine aged up to and including 24, are entitled to a free pass for young students, in the under 23+TP student modality, who are enrolled in a national educational establishment, be it basic, secondary, vocational or higher education, with annual renewal required.
Required documentation
Personalized navigation card – if you do not have a personalized navigation card;
Young people aged 4 to 18 do not need to provide proof of enrollment in an educational unit (as they attend compulsory education);
Young people aged 19 to 23 must prove that they are students by presenting a Declaration of Enrollment;
Young people aged 23 to 24 must prove that they are students studying Architecture and Urban Planning, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine or Veterinary Medicine by submitting a Declaration of Enrollment;
Presentation of the identification document;
At Fertagus, where can I order the personalized navigation card or activate/renew the 4_18 or sub23 profile?
You can place your order for the 4_18 or Sub23 card at any Fertagus Ticket Office.*
If your order is normal (not urgent), it will be available at the Ticket Office where you ordered from the 10th working day after delivery and has a cost of €3.50.
If you place an order urgently:

- Card delivered the next business day to the Customer Support Office (Pragal)
Order placed after 5pm
- Card delivered on the 2nd business day at the Ticket Office where the order was made.

If you already hold a personalized Navegante card, you can update it to profile 4_18 or Sub23 at the Fertagus Customer Service Office, by submitting the necessary documentation for each type of profile. The annual renewal of the Sub23 profile is carried out only at the Customer Support Office.

Note: Requesting a navigation card or updating your 4_18 or Sub23 profile can be done at any transport operator in the Lisbon metropolitan area, at the locations indicated by them or at Espaços Navegante on Carris Metropolitana.
Personalized card warranty period
Navegante cards have a warranty period of two years after the date of issue. If, during this period, the card stops working due to a malfunction, without any visible damage, it will be replaced by the operator at no cost to the cardholder. After the warranty period has elapsed, the customer bears the cost of replacing the card in any situation.
